Ok so let's get right down to it. My last few classes have centered on Entrepreneurship and Communications. I have decided not to pull any punches here and tell it like it is, no use give out my opinions unless they are as truthful as possible after all I want anyone who reads this to make a better more well informed decision if you want to or should attend.
The Entrepreneurship class was well a complete waste of time, plain and simple. I think this is something you don't need to teach you either are one or your not or you want to be one that's it. Basically the entire class was spent on are you born or do you become an entrepreneur. I said form the first minute "who the heck cares" I might have used a bit stronger wording than that but you get the point.
The class had some major shortcomings the cases we went over were to flowery, the people in these cases were all better than Mother Teresa herself. The main characters in the cases lived and worked for the workers of their company and never ever was it about money. Call me cynical call me naive, but a lot of entrepreneurs are in it for the freedom and in many cases the money, plain and simple, hey there is nothing wrong with that at all, but I think we need to be upfront here. I invent a new "thing a ma jig" to solve a problem and I hope it makes heaps of cash.
Things I would have liked to see changed, let's get more cases where there really is some sort of dilemma make us really think about our decisions and the consequences of them, and/or how to put them into action. Maybe have in a group invent something or market something new, that would have made the class interesting, also cutting the time in half would have worked well.
Next update will be on Communication part of the course....
